Traffic Court Records in Wilson County
A citation creates its court record in the forum named on the ticket. Wilson County District Court handles state-law traffic cases filed in the district system. Fredonia and Neodesha municipal courts separately keep city-ordinance traffic cases. The court name and case number identify the right clerk.
District cases often use WL-YYYY-TR-NNNNNN and appear in Kansas CaseSearch. Fredonia has a city-linked payment route. Neodesha publishes payment and court-day instructions but no public municipal docket portal was found. A failed statewide search does not rule out a city ticket.
Wilson District or City Traffic
Venue is the first search field. State traffic counts in district court appear in the Wilson district record. Fredonia or Neodesha ordinance tickets stay in municipal files unless appealed. Kansas CaseSearch does not collect every city court docket.
| Route | First lookup | Custodian |
|---|---|---|
| Wilson district | Kansas CaseSearch | District clerk |
| Fredonia city | FredoniaTix or court | Municipal clerk |
| Neodesha city | Call court | Municipal clerk |
This split prevents a common mistake. Always use the forum printed on the citation, not merely the county where the stop occurred.
How to Look Up a Traffic Ticket
For a district case, open Kansas CaseSearch, accept the terms, select District and Wilson County, and use the citation or case number. The current form has no traffic-category dropdown. For city tickets, contact the municipal court on the citation. Fredonia uses its local payment link; Neodesha directs users to call.
- Read the citation number, law cited, and named court.
- Search Kansas CaseSearch if it is a Wilson district case.
- Use the Fredonia route or call Neodesha for a municipal citation.
- Call or visit the correct clerk if the case has not posted.
- Confirm the court date and response deadline before acting.
Wilson Central Payment Search
The Kansas Courts Central Payment Center handles eligible district obligations. It is a payment channel, not a full events index. The official landing page appears in the assigned capture.

A payment match can show an amount, yet the court docket remains the source for settings, pleas, and disposition.
The related case-search screen accepts several identifiers.

Those fields help locate a payable account. Clerk confirmation is still prudent when a court date or status is in doubt.
Finding Your Traffic Court Date
The citation’s appearance date is the first checkpoint. Compare it with the current court entry, then confirm it with the clerk. Wilson district settings may appear in CaseSearch or the 31st District calendar. Fredonia holds municipal court Wednesdays at 4:00 p.m. Neodesha meets at 2:00 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays. A recurring court day does not replace the individual setting.
| Citation Number | Officer-issued number or WL-YYYY-TR-NNNNNN |
|---|---|
| Court | Wilson District, Fredonia Municipal, or Neodesha Municipal |
| Date & Time | Appearance or later hearing setting |
| Location | Address listed by the responsible court |
| Status | Pending, paid, dismissed, plea, or other disposition |
Wilson Citation Fields Matter
K.S.A. 8-2106 describes Kansas traffic-citation content, including the offense and appearance information. Read every field before choosing a lookup route.

The statute gives citation context. Only the live court record gives the actual status of an individual case.
Paying or Contesting a Ticket
Payment and contest are different choices. Payment uses an approved route for an eligible citation. A contest requires contact with the named court and may produce another setting. Do not infer eligibility from a payment button. The citation, court order, and clerk control the response deadline.
| Paying the Ticket | Contesting the Ticket |
|---|---|
| Uses an approved payment path | Requires a plea or request to the court |
| Must meet the stated due date | Must meet the response or appearance date |
| District center or city method | Counter, phone guidance, or directed filing |
Missed date: Contact the named court at once. An online balance may not state every consequence or replace a required appearance.
Wilson Traffic by the Numbers
Official FY2025 reports list 1,434 Wilson district traffic filings and 1,458 dispositions. The disposition row includes 97 deferred adjudication or diversion outcomes, 101 dismissals, 1,179 pleas, 80 other results, no jury trials, and one trial to the court.
These are not matched cohorts. A disposition in FY2025 can close a case filed earlier, so the totals should not be compared as if they describe the same tickets.
Wilson Court Record vs Driver Record
The responsible court clerk keeps the citation case, with settings, plea, orders, payment, and disposition. The Kansas licensing agency keeps a separate driver record. A request for the court file goes to the district or municipal clerk. The two files have different custodians and purposes.
| Court Traffic Record | Driver Record | |
|---|---|---|
| Kept By | District or municipal clerk | Kansas licensing agency |
| Shows | Citation, plea, setting, disposition | Separate state driving history |
| How to Get It | Court lookup or clerk request | State record channel |
Wilson Municipal Payment Routes
Fredonia Municipal Court lists 100 N. 15th and 620-378-2231. FredoniaTix redirects to nCourt. That vendor route handles citations and payments; it is not a public full-docket database. The municipal clerk remains the source for the city file and setting.
Neodesha Municipal Court is at 1407 N. 8th and answers 620-325-2828. Its FAQ lists cash, check, money order, cashier's check, Mastercard, Visa, and phone card payment. It says to call to learn whether a citation can be paid without appearing.
Wilson Traffic Fees and Copies
The Central Payment Center lists a $2.50 electronic-check convenience fee and a card fee of 2.5 percent plus $0.30. Those are payment charges, not record-copy prices. No current Wilson copy schedule was found. Kansas law lets the district court set copy and certification fees, so request a quote from the clerk holding the traffic file.
| Item | Fee | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Electronic-check payment | $2.50 | Payment-center fee |
| Card payment | 2.5% + $0.30 | Payment-center fee |
| Plain or certified copy | Quote required | Ask responsible clerk |
Wilson Traffic Record Requests
Ask the clerk for the exact item needed: an events index, citation, order, disposition, or certified copy. A vague request for a traffic record can produce the wrong product. Provide the court, party name, citation or case number, and document date.
District records can be checked online, at the courthouse terminal, by phone, or through a written request. Municipal records must go to the city clerk. Current copy and certification terms should be confirmed before the order is processed.
Reading a Wilson Traffic Entry
A district traffic entry should be read as a sequence, not as one result label. The case header identifies Wilson County, the parties, and the TR number. Event rows can show filing, service, an appearance setting, continuance, plea, payment, and disposition. Kansas Rule 21 calls that chronological list the events index or register of actions. A calendar setting is only one event within it.
Search by the full case number when possible. The current Kansas interface also accepts citation number, person name, business name, and advanced filters. Wilson must be selected as the county. Names may need the portal’s expected last-name-first format, while the number should preserve the county prefix and case-type code. If a result is uncertain, compare the issuing court and citation date before relying on it.
- TR
- District traffic case category used in a Wilson case number.
- Setting
- A scheduled court event, not a final result.
- Disposition
- The recorded way a charge or case was resolved.
- Continuance
- A court-approved move to a later date.
Internet access also has limits. Sealed matters and restricted documents do not become public through a traffic search. A public document absent online may still be available at the Wilson courthouse terminal. The terminal is reserved for public court searches, and the district clerk can explain whether the desired item is case information, a filed document, or a certified copy.
Older Wilson cases may use a number without the WL prefix. Try both documented formats before concluding that no district case exists. Then check whether the ticket was municipal. This fallback sequence is especially important in Wilson County because the district and city systems do not merge into one public traffic database.
